american idol

If you happened to miss the most important episode of this season's American Idol, KRIS ALLEN AND ADAM LAMBERT are in the final two! For me, whoever wins is irrelevant at this point because this week was MY finale. I just wanted to see both of them be the last contestants. I think Adam is the more talented singer of the two and deserves to win, but Kris warms my heart, and my heart might actually shatter into a million little pieces if he doesn't win. Kris is also the underdog, and who doesn't like to see the underdog on top? In essence, I hope that America is equally divided and American Idol declares both of them winners. Wouldn't that be epic? According to Simon Cowell, next week will be a "big ding dong". Usually, I only care about what Simon says, but I need someone to explain to me what a "big ding dong" is...

I wanted to end this post with Adam Lambert's rendition of "Mad World" because it's the best I've ever heard, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to figure out how to post youtube videos. SOWWY. Go listen to it though.

Easter Sunday

I had to quell my nausea this weekend. My dad thought he had tongue cancer. While we were waiting in the waiting room for three hours, he went outside to smoke twice. I wanted to tell him that we probably wouldn't be here if he wasn't putting up with his disgusting, filthy habit. I know he couldn't really help it, but I was so frustrated and angry and scared. Now, I'm just glad that he's okay... an addiction is a scary thing.

Happy Easter Day. I want to write more, but I know that my mind is elsewhere right now. I'll just say that I remain grateful for Him. For everything.

recent purchases

My new camera (Nikon D40) arrived today along with my Bebe dress! When I saw the FedEx truck make its turn from my dead end, I rushed downstairs, stubbed my toe in the process, and literally waited by the door for Mr. FedEx to ring on my doorbell. I might as well have just walked out and waited by my mailbox. I was THAT excited.

About this dress : It's for a wedding at a beach so I was looking for something semi-formal with a summery kind of feel. I walked into Bebe last week, and this dress was love at first sight. It's short, strapless, and pleated on the bottom. It has a floral design with a "perfect bouquet of color", as Bebe's description so eloquently puts it. They only had a few of the dresses, and none in my size, AHHH *disaster*. Before I could get too distressed, the assistant told me I could find it online though. I look online, and they have everything but an XXS in stock. Ugh. I crossed my fingers and ordered the XS.
When I take this imprisoned dress out of its box and put it on.... it fits gloriously! Okay, maybe not so, the chest area is too big (I wonder why) , but I felt like a million dollars . I twirled around in my room for a few minutes before I got my senses back. I think it's perfect.

About this camera : My very, very, very first SLR camera !!! I actually did a lot of "research" prior to ordering it. It doesn't have an overwhelming amount of features but enough so that you can play around and have fun. The best part is the picture quality itself though. The quick shutter speed allows for super crisp pictures, and of course, the automated focus helps to outline your subject a lot better than any normal digital camera. The only downside to it is that it's very bulky and not very accommodating. You can't exactly take it every time you go out to eat to take pictures of your food which is a favorite pastime hobby of mine :( :( :(. It's alright, I think I'll manage.

blazer - Heritage
shirt - ???
headband - Yesstyle

I bought this blazer at Heritage for $10! Since I've started working, I have become the queen of bargain shopping. I wear that ruffled button up all of the time but can never remember where I got it, and the headband isn't even a headband. It came as part of a shirt I ordered from yesstyle :).

Exactly 11 days until the Caribbeans. I hope next week flies by.

my very first entry

I've never been consistent with writing in a journal, much less an online journal, but I'm going to try it out. I think this will be good for me particularly because I have a lot of inner monologue, haha. I'm going to try to make this a multifaceted journal. I'll write short little movie and book reviews, muse on random topics. post visuals, etc. Oh, and this is also where I will whine and complain, state my opinion as fact, take my bad day out on you. Just try to swing with my moods.

Hm. I suppose this is a useless first entry, but I have nothing substantial to talk about. I should go do homework.
